Prohibited & Restricted Items
What may not be sold, and why the check refuses it at the door.

These may not be listed or sold through the marketplace. The list is enforced automatically when a listing is created — a listing that matches is refused at the point of posting, not quietly removed later.
- Alcohol
- Drugs or narcotics
- Firearms, weapons or ammunition
- Prescription or regulated medication
- Tobacco or vaping products
Staff can add further blocked terms, and can review anything the automatic check let through.
Why these
Each of these is either unlawful to sell without a licence we do not hold, unlawful to ship across the borders our users sit on either side of, or restricted by the payment processors we depend on. Refusing them at the door is a smaller unfairness than taking someone's listing fee and then removing the listing.
If your legitimate listing is refused
The check matches words, and words are ambiguous — a "wine rack" is not wine. Contact [not yet published: legal contact address] and a person will look at it.
Also not allowed
Counterfeits, stolen goods, recalled products, live animals, human remains or bodily fluids, government identity documents, and anything whose sale would break the law where either the buyer or the seller is.
